We were delighted to be able to play at their wedding...there were a few familiar faces in the audience (including some notable former clients who keep recommending us- thanks Jo!).
This time we were playing at Pollokshields Burgh Hall, which is a really nice venue with a decent floor space for a ceilidh. This was the first time we've played here but really enjoyed it. The guests at the wedding were enthusiastic and really made it easy for us.
A personal highlight for me was the limited edition Irn-Bru cans that we were given. I've seen them a few times since but as a connoisseur of the finest drink known to man it was quite exciting!
We wish Paul and Emily all the best!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were back at St Andrew's in the Square, in Glasgow. This is one of the venues we've played at most over the years. It's a cracking building which makes an amazing setting for a big event.
This time it was a ruby wedding anniversary Jiggered were playing at, and the room had been filled with red balloons to celebrate the occassion! By the way, the buffet at this event was class. The samosas were nice and crisp and the cake was really tasty. Good job!!
One thing worth mentioning about this venue is that it has a sound-limiting system installed to keep the noise level from being too excessive since St Andrews in the Square is surrounded by residents. Jiggered's experience of this system and others like it means that we can control our sound to avoid any cut-out.
Jiggered will be returning to this venue next month (looking forward to it already)!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band shed a tear as they sold their old sound system. It had served us well for the past few years but we decided to sell it on since we're now using Mackie powered speakers and a smaller mixer.
The gear was snapped up within a couple of hours by 3 guys from Greenock (it would have been sooner but they ignored the satnav instructions!!).
The trio are the members of The Licks, a fledgling rock and roll band based in Greenock. They seemed nice guys- we wish them all the best...hope our former sound stuff helps you out- we'll be looking out for the name! If you ever get famous, we'll be looking for some credit for getting you started!!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were back playing at Glasgow University's QM Union. For the past three years we've been asked to play a ceilidh for the Statistics Department, while they've hosted an international Statistics event.
During our break this time we were treated to some Greek dancing, trained waltzers and a song performed by the event's organiser Adrian Bowman (who teamed up with Jiggered who learned the music during the break!!).
It's great to get back into the Student Unions in Glasgow where it all started for Jiggered. We also really enjoy teaching ceilidh dances to those who've never seen them before and this was the perfect opportunity to do that!
One word of warning for anyone who is going to be bringing equipment up in the QM lift...the doors shut quite violently!!
