Jiggered Ceilidh Band Play for a 40th Anniversary

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Play for a 40th Anniversary

Jiggered Ceilidh Band recently played a 40th anniversary for a couple called Linda and Duncan. The event was held in Broxburn in the local secondary school: Broxburn Academy. Many of the guests were from New Life Christian Fellowship, and seemed to really enjoy the music and songs.

On the recommendation of our client we nipped out for chips at halftime to Aldo's chip shop, just round the corner. The chips were great...even Jenny and Susan who had to eat them in the boot of my car (for reasons that won't be clear to most folk reading this) loved them!

Another great part of this ceilidh was the fact that it coincided with the clocks going back! So even though it was a 10pm finish, that was effectively a 9pm finish....so a nice early night- woohoo!

Once in a Lifetime Offer- take advantage of Ewan's misfortune!

Once in a Lifetime Offer- take advantage of Ewan's misfortune!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band drummer Ewan has had a nightmare week: First, his 15-year-old family dog Josh died. Then he was made redundant. Finally, he was taken into hospital (he's not been well...his only functioning kidney has been playing up). *1,2,3.....awwww*

Now that Ewan is jobless, he is considering a change in career. He's thinking about starting up a drum tuition service. So, this is your opportunity to be one of the first to learn from our star drummer. If you are interested in snapping up one of his teaching slots, then you can contact him on 07746386025 (if you quote the reference number 3141 you can get a special Jiggered blog discount).

Happy drumming. And hope you have a better week this week Ewan!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Play at 1A the Square, Glasgow University

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Play at 1A the Square, Glasgow University

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were hired to play at the recent Smith/Crozier wedding at Glasgow University's "1A The Square". This was the first time we'd played in this part of Glasgow University...it's really nice with the usual grandeur of the ancient university but in a slightly more intimate setting.

The bride and groom had discovered us on the website and loved our demo tracks. In particular, they really liked our version of Loch Lomond so we made sure to play that for them.

We wish Mr and Mrs Smith all the best in their marriage!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: Another Wedding in Glasgow

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: Another Wedding in Glasgow

It was great to be back at St Andrews in the Square, Glasgow. Jiggered Ceilidh Band have played there many times over the years.

This was a special one since:

-Rebecca and Andi were getting married (Andi's drummed for us before)

-lots of of the "Greenview crew" were present, including our good friends Peter and Amy and one of our biggest fans, Ruth Hutchison (I don't mean "largest" by the way, before I get into bother). Ruth took lots of photos on her super-duper fancy camera which you can see on our Flickr feed above. Thanks for that, Hutch!

Jiggered are really busy for the rest of 2009- watch this space for more blogging action soon.

Jiggered Ceilidh Band in Edinburgh for Donald's 21st

Jiggered Ceilidh Band in Edinburgh for Donald's 21st

Perhaps the headline is misleading. Jiggered weren't playing at Donald Duck's wedding (that would be an amazing gig!). Instead it was Donald Revolta's 21st...who incidentally does a mean Donald Duck impression as he demostrated during his speech.

We were playing in the clubhouse of Heriot's Rugby Club, Edinburgh. It was a brilliant ceilidh. An incredibly enthusiastic crowd made for some very energetic ceilidh dances. Donald provided an interesting speech at half time. Really nice to hear someone share something as important with their closest friends and family.

Enjoyed our evening- and a 10pm finish meant we were tucked up in bed before midnight!!
