Jiggered Ceildh Band were back in Edinburgh for another Rose-related wedding. This time it was Tim getting hitched and we've nearly completed the whole set- no pressure Abbie ;).
The wedding reception was held in the stunning City Chambers, on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. The room where the reception was is one of the most impressive we've played in- and great for a ceilidh.
It was great catching up with former Jiggered members, friends, past clients and the quote of the evening was "...I really wasn't up for dancing tonight bit then I saw it was you guys and was so pleased- you're my favourite band!"
Only 3 more ceilidhs to go in 2009; another wedding, a Christmas ceilidh and a Hogmanay ceilidh.

Jiggered Ceilidh Band are just back home after their latest ceilidh adventure. This time we were playing at a wedding in Tarves (up past Aberdeen). Felicity and Christophe were getting married and wanted Jiggered to play at the wedding service as well as the evening reception.
The wedding was in Tarves Church of Scotland. We had been asked to play Comptine D'un Autre ete: l'apres midi (the theme tune from French film Amelie, composed by Yann Tiersen) for the bride's entry and Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah at the end.
In the evening we played a short ceilidh at Melvin Hall and all guests (French and Scottish) were loving the Jiggered experience! We wish Felicity and Christophe all the best!
*Thanks to Jenny who provided the band with dinner, bed and breakfast!!*

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing in Lenzie this weekend at a fundraiser for Stepps Hockey Club. The event was a sellout and the hall was packed with energetic ceilidhers. Jiggered were booked for 2 one-and-a-half sets but the second was cut a bit short to allow the raffle to take place (top prize was a signed Chris Patterson shirt) and also to let everyone get tucked into the excellent buffet (mmmm....pakora, onion rings, pizza, sausage rolls!).
It was also a first for Jiggered, when a potential client arrived to hear us and liked our sound so much that they paid £100 in cash as a deposit to snap us up for their wedding next May!
2010 is really filling up quickly so if you want Jiggered, then you need to book up early!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were back in action this weekend. We were playing at Craighalbert. We're due to play here twice in December 2009 so the we're getting to know the venue and crowd pretty well!!
The lighting was a bit unorthodox at the event (hence the enormous shadow of Ewan in the picture), but it was a great evening to celebrate 40 years of marriage for Danny and Margaret. Other highlights included a cracking buffet [great curries followed by custard], a poem recited by a 91-year old gentleman, some cheeky ceilidhers laughing at me when I banged my head off the aforementioned lighting rig, catching up with a weel-kent-face-fae-Crosshouse...
Thanks again, for a great night at Craighalbert. Looking forward to Joy's wedding and Hogmany!!
