Jiggered Ceilidh Band in Ayrshire

Jiggered Ceilidh Band in Ayrshire

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were invited to play at Townhead Church, Newmilns as part of their "Community Week". The church was busy with extra seats needing to be brought in as the crowds gathered.

We played our first set, and then enjoyed a burger and ice-cream before a short set to finish. It was fun being in Newmilns for the night and to have so many friends coming along for the ceilidh and barbecue!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding in Glasgow

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding in Glasgow

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing again- this time at Lorne Hotel, Glasgow. It was friends of Ewan's who'd been married so we were playing with Andi drumming which allowed Ewan a rare chance to do some ceilidh dancing (actually, we met a large contingent of the "Ewan Cunningham Fan Club").

Two midweek ceilidhs coming up- should be good!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Record Some Video Footage at Church Ceilidh

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Record Some Video Footage at Church Ceilidh

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing recently at Hilton Strathclyde Hotel. It was the first year anniversary ceilidh for Glasgow's Harvest Bible Chapel. We had a great night and as usual we went down at a storm at the church ceilidh.

Before the night started, we recorded some quick video footage of our sound check! We quickly recorded three songs: Gay Gordons, Virginia Reel and Red Red Rose. Please bear in mind that these are single takes, unedited and you'll even see me running in and out of shot to start and finish the video!!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Are Really Busy

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Are Really Busy

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were back at Balbirnie House Hotel, Glenrothes for another wedding. There was a sense of familiarity in the air last night. We've played at this lovely venue on a number of occassions- maybe it was that? Or possibly it was the presence of at least 3 other couples whose weddings we'd played at- this crowd certainly are becoming a significant fan club!

Jiggered are pretty busy over the next few days...ceilidhs on Monday, Friday, Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday make it a real hectic 10 days! And we're getting loads of enquiries for the rest of the year and 2011 too!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding in Kilbirnie

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding in Kilbirnie

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were this week playing for the first time at Moorpark House Hotel, Kilbirnie. This was our first visit here and it's a smashing venue- the house is really impressive looking from outside and there are some really cool rooms inside as well. We were doing yet another wedding and some guests recognised us from another wedding we'd performed at this summer- Jiggered are fast becoming THE choice for wedding ceilidhs across Scotland!

The bride and groom looked to have had a great day and really enjoyed the evening. It wasn't just Jiggered who were providing entertainment- some family and friends came up to sing well known classics and a song written especially for the occasion...Brilliant stuff.

Our good friend (and occassional guest drummer) Andi Watson was the wedding photographer and he was able to take some quick snaps of the band- watch this space....They'll appear on the website soon!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band play Wedding in Dundee

Jiggered Ceilidh Band play Wedding in Dundee

Jiggered Ceilidh Band arrived back home in the early hours of Sunday morning, after a trip up to Dundee for a wedding at Piperdam. The bride and groom currently live in Germany but had returned to his hometown to get hitched. They came across Jiggered's website and loved the look of the site and the sound samples too. High praise since the groom, Gavin Brady, is an accomplished professional pianist!

I'll readily admit I was a wee bit nervous about playing piano in front of someone of Gav's talent but I needn't have worried- the bride and groom were both instant fans of Jiggered and loved our sound. So even when Gavin and his friend took over the piano and violin for a brilliant duet it was all in true ceilidh spirit...appreciating good music even if our styles were quite different!
