Jiggered Ceilidh Band were out and about yet again in April 2011. This time we headed across to the capital for Edinburgh University's Music Department Graduation Ball. It's always a wee bit of added pressure playing in front of a crowd you know are talented musicians but the ceilidh went down a storm (thanks in part to the venue's resident sound engineer Malcy)!
It was our first time playing at Ghille Dhu, a fun, quirky, really cool venue. They are well into ceilidh there and we were proud to join the proud ceilidh tradition (they've even got a picture on their website of naked ceilidh. No thanks).

Jiggered Ceilidh Band made the 400mile round trip to play in Inverness this weekend, at the New Drumossie Hotel. Roddy and Aileen had heard us a couple of weeks ago as we played at a wedding in Glasgow and were looking forward to having us play for their big day too!
The reception was delayed by an hour and a half which gave us plenty of time for Jiggered to get in some high quality banter (if only we could have made it onto the balcony...). By the time we were ready to start, Jenny was so excited that she tripped over the sound equipment...much to the amusement of her bandmates and the hotel staff!
The evening was loads of fun, and there were a lot of familiar faces in the crowd and it was great to meet up and enjoy a brilliant evening of ceilidh action!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were ceilidhing at two weddings this weekend. The second was Richard and Emma's wedding in "WEST"- a really interesting venue. The location is pretty nice (in Glasgow Green, with views of the People's Palace) so we enjoyed the summer's night during our break. It was good to catch up with an old uni pal, Niloy Roy (who is apparently available for DJ and wedding band provision too, if you're interested!).
The evening was a huge success for the couple and it was great to see some really keen ceilidh dancing from some obvious experts and complete novices too!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band are inaction twice this weekend. And on both occassions we're being watched by potential clients who're like what they've seen online but wanted to check out the "live Jiggered experience". Last night we were playing again at the Hilton Grosvenor.
It was a large wedding and we saw plenty of familiar faces, and even a few brides/grooms-to-be who have already booked Jiggered for their big day!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing at a wedding at Pollokshields Burgh Hall last night. Ewan couldn't understand why his iPhone was telling him it would take over an hour to do the relatively short journey from his flat to the Hall...I pointed out the button at the top that changes the app from "walking mode" to "driving mode". A "blonde moment" from Ewan as he described it.
The bride and groom had "learned" a choreographed first dance- brilliant!
