Well, last night was one of those ceilidhs that will stick in my memory for a long time. Jiggered were playing for the newly married Mr and Mrs McGovern at the perfectly located Duck Bay right on the banks of Loch Lomond!
First off we were greeted by "Mrs Thomson" who was running the show. She was our host for the evening and seemed quite a formible woman from first impressions. However, Mrs T was exactly what every wedding needs- someone to keep an eye on the clock, make sure everyone else does their job, ensures all the guests are behaving themselves...and provides the ceilidh band with muffins!!
We were sharing the billing with Scott the DJ, who got the crowd up boogying in between our sets and gave us a great send-off at the end of the night. He was hilarious...when we were chatting in the foyer, you could been forgiven for mistaking him for a character from Chewin' The Fat. But he adopted a schmoozing DJ voice as soon as he spoke through the mic.
It was great having Ben playing while Ewan was on holiday (I'm not just writing this because I know Ben reads every Jiggered blog...).

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing in Surgeon's Hall, Edinburgh last night. It was a wedding and the couple have been living in Dubai for a while but wanted to return to Scotland to get married. The evening was lovely- the guests danced their hearts out and it was the first ceilidh for a few months with our original lineup. Susan was back from her maternity leave!
It was also a year to the day that Ewan got his kidney transplant. Happy kidneversary, Ewan!
