We are looked after so well every time we roll up at Destiny. I was greeted by a big Jiggered fan with a hug and the welcome "Hey, Chrissy Boy...Does this mean it's the mighty Jiggered playing again this year?" Then there was sound guru Rob who was patient and helpful during the sound check and the rest of the evening (fun fact: I sang Happy Birthday to him as our sound check last year and the popcorn seller gave him a bag of popcorn as a brithday treat...of course it wasn't even his birthday!).
Host Louise, organiser Fiona, our PA for the evening Johannes couldn't be faulted. We were treated like royalty and really hope to make it 4-in-a-row in 2014!!

Last night saw the first of Jiggered Ceilidh Band's gigs with our new line-up. It was a Burns' Night ceilidh for Townhead Church (all proceeds going to Christian Aid), Newmilns and the place was packed with troops keen on ceilidhing the night away...
Highlights of the night:
-some fine dancing from the kids
-a solo from Bob "smiler" Dewar
-rendition of Willy Wassell by Elaine "I widnae gie a button for her" Smith
-address to the haggis by Stephen "thigh slapping" Dewar
-yummy haggis, neeps and tatties followed by tablet!
And to top it all, Emma was unveiled as the newest member of Jiggered- she slotted into the lineup seamlessly, sang beautifully, called the dances like a pro. At the end of the night, loads of folk came over to say how brilliant Jiggered sounded! Can't wait to get back to it tonight.

If you're looking for a great videographer for your wedding, why not contact Strangeworx? James always does a great job and when Jiggered Ceilidh Band played at a wedding he was working at he took some footage of us in action. Check it out here: Jiggered by Strangeworx.

Last night, Jiggered Ceilidh Band were playing at in Kirkcaldy's Beveridge Park Hotel (our second time at this venue) for the Abbotsford Care Staff Awards Night. I'll not say too much about this event other than our first set was immediately preceded by some of the staff performing their version of Gangnam Style!
Last night was a big night for Jiggered really. Since starting in 2002 we've had a few musicians who have played in the band (covering each of us while we've been on holiday or maternity leave or sabbaticals etc). Over the years, however, Jenny has been an almost ever present. She's missed only one or two gigs. Until now. Jenny is giving up and moving on. Susan, Ewan and I are going to miss our pal. We've had loads of adventures, fun and dramas. We've shared countless weekends together, late night road trips, every Hogmanay for a decade, created beautiful music for hundreds of brides and grooms....There are lots of "in jokes" and memories that I could share but not here.
Thanks for an unforgettable journey, Jenny.
Exciting days ahead though, with new recruit Emma. Woohoo!

Some people yearn to get honoured with an MBE/OBE in the Queen's New Year Honour's List.
Some people long for a retweet from their chosen celebrity.
Some people would love to get a back stage pass at their favourite band's concert.
All of these dreams are eclipsed by the privilege of attending an Invitation-Only-Event starring Jiggered Ceilidh Band. And tonight it was a very select bunch who danced along and dined with their favourite band.
A great night- an exciting year beckons for Scotland's top ceilidh band.

Back by popular demand...here is the graph showing how many gigs we've had "since records began"....Regrettably, we didn't bother from 2002-2006. Here's what we do have. 2012...I remember it like it was yesterday.

That's three years in a row Jiggered Ceilidh Band have played our Hogmanay gig at Gleddoch House Hotel, Langbank. This was probably the best of the lot. The crowd joined in with the songs (Loch Lomond was the best EVER!), piled onto the dance floor and at the end of the night one of the guests borrowed our mic to thank us on behalf of everyone for a brilliant performance.
So, the end of 2012...another massive one for Jiggered. 10 year anniversary. 55 gigs. Here's to a cracking 2013....If you have a ceilidh, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the J-Team!
