Our night started off with dinner at Susan's house- yum. Ewan provided the early drama with a flat car battery but a quick jump start and we were ready for the trip across to Crutherland House Hotel. Jiggered Ceilidh Band have played at this brilliant venue a number of times and we love it. The access for the band is ideal, the room is spacious, the staff are great...
This time it was the wedding of Dianne and David. They're a lovely couple and there were a few familiar faces in the crowd (some that I knew from growing up, some that Ewan recognised, the obligatory appearance by Ewan Speedie and the friendly Royal Foundlings team who are jetting off for their latest US tour- all the best guys!).
It was a fantastic evening- good crowd, good music, good times. In fact, the bride and groom emailed today to say thanks...just a snippet from their email:
"Hey Chris and the rest of the band, You guys were fantastic! So sorry didn't get to say bye to you all. I absolutely loved it."
All the best, Mr and Mrs G!

Weddings are our speciality. Jiggered Ceilidh Band do more weddings than anything else. This was our first of 2013 and our first event in The Couper Institute, Glasgow. It was an interesting evening- Emma was struggling with severe food poisoning and Ewan, too, was under the weather. In stepped Andi Watson (Glasgow's finest wedding photographer and Scotland's best stand-in drummer!) bringing his lively and fun-filled approach to wedding entertainment. I have a hunch he will be reading this, that's why I'm being so complimentary (only kidding, our French lady).
Jiggered did lots of Scottish stuff during the night and the bride and groom who hadn't been keen on performing a first dance ended up waltzing around to a couple of songs while guests dashed to capture the special moment!
During our break a few members of the wedding party performed Gangnam Style on the stage which was a big hit too!
