It's Easter Sunday- a brilliant reason to celebrate!
Jiggered Ceilidh Band were in action last night at the fantastic Carnoustie Golf Course Hotel once again. This time it was for Keith's retiral party. The last time it was for his daughter's wedding. Last night's line-up was unique in Jiggered's history. We played as a 5-piece with TWO fiddles. Claire, from two piece ceilidh band Simple Sounds, is going to help us out by playing when Susan is on maternity leave later in the year. It sounded great with Susan and Claire considerable talents leading the Jiggered melodies and harmonies.
Losing an hour because of the clocks going forward meant getting home at 4am. As Ewan will testify, there's nothing worse!

Another great night for Jiggered Ceilidh Band kicked off with dinner at Emma's...Haggis chilli was on the menu- surely a wee glimpse for you guys into our ceilidh rock and roll lifestyle.
Then it was off to Oran Mor to provide entertainment at a Dinner Dance for NHS staff. Our warm-up act specialised in medical-themed song parodies...very niche but ideal for this crowd!
We played a two hour set which went down really well- then it was back out of Oran Mor (i.e. off the stage, through the kitchen, down in the lift, out through the store room, down a small, damp alley up to the cars...) and driving home in the snow!

For the last few years Jiggered Ceilidh Band have played in Troon for The Smiles Foundation, a Christian charity who support those in Romania suffering from crippling poverty. This ceilidh is always well attended with a fantastic bunch of energtic young folk who love a good ceilidh. The event's host, Ann, had organised the band, raffle, silent auction, tombola, bar, buffet, pizza, chocolate fountain and games too. It was a brilliant night, Looking forward to playing for these guys again, that's for sure!
