It's March: spring's here. Every year about this time, Jiggered Ceilidh Band head to the Troon's Concert Hall to perform at Ann's charity ceilidh. Ann raises loads of money for The Smiles Foundation, a charity that helps young people and families in Romania. As well as ceilidh, Ann had laid on a tombola, silent auction, chocolate fountain, bar, pizza....It was amazing to watch the stack of pizza boxes being piped in with bagpipes. Brilliant!
Highlight of the night though might have been a wee practice of a trio of vocals for an upcoming ceilidh. Watch this space, folks.

Hope you enjoyed Valentine's Day! Jiggered Ceilidh Band were in action at Lochside House Hotel for a wedding. I suppose getting married on Valentine's Day might help Graham avoid forgetting his anniversary in the future (nice thinking, Rebecca!). It was cool to have our first ever mohawked groom! The evening started off with the cutting of the cake, the first dance, the first dance and then we got the ceilidh action going...There were loads of familiar faces in the crowd for me. Folk from the Valley who it was nice to catch up with, including Jonathan who admitted he'd had a dream about me two nights ago, Mrs D who was still raving about Jiggered's performance 18 months ago, the Patrick and Copeland clans, Mrs P who has been following us about recently (this was her third Jiggered ceilidh in as many months) and John Mac who continues to be one of our unofficial promoters! Cake at the break, even for Emma who couldn't resist even with the tempting (?) prospect of a protein shake and pancake when she got home! A rare weekend for the Jiggered team next weekend...After that we'll start a run of three ceilidhs in eight days. Woohoo!

It was the wedding of Ali and Tanika- the wedding had loads of personal touches and wee surprises. The beautiful Tanika had baked a cake for birthday boy Ali, her dad sang her a song, Tanika and father-of-the-groom John performed a dance to "Son of a Preacher Man"....
The couple had arranged for many other memorable mementos including photo opportunities, pictures to sign, guest books. Jiggered left their own wee message for the couple on one of the fill-in-the-blank sheets (see photo).
It was a great night. Dancing, good food (I was ready for the buffet, as Ewan and Emma will testify to). The evening ended with an encore of the couple's first dance request: Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You", which looks set to become a new Jiggered favourite!

Jiggered are the obvious choice for your wedding as far as ceilidh band goes. But what about the photographer, florist, cake maker and all the other stuff? "Planning My Scottish Wedding" is definitely worth a browse...Check them out! They have all sorts of Scottish suppliers on there, including everyone's favourite, Jiggered!
