The 88th Craigalmond Scout Group were in a bit of a jam. Their St Andrew's Weekend Fundraiser was in danger of being cancelled when their band cancelled with just a few days to go!
Clare contacted Jiggered Ceilidh Band and fortunately we were able to go over to play at the event, held in Carrick Knowe Primary School over in Edinburgh.
It was a great night- the crowd were youthful and enthusiastic, Emma had fun playing with the props backstage and we the Scouts raised loads of money too!
So, if you have a problem and no-one else can help and if you can find them, maybe you could hire The Jiggered Team....

Jiggered Ceilidh Band were out and about for their first ceilidh of the weekend...
This one was in Glasgow- Bath Street Tron Halls to be precise. It was a pleasure to be playing for Laura and the RTW team. We played for just over two hours and the crowd were fab. There were a number of internationals present, ceilidhing for the first time! Expertly guided by Emma, the whole ceilidh went smoothly and we were getting loads of compliments on our way out of the door!
Next up, Edinburgh...

Jonathan and Kirsten's wedding was a great one to be involved in. There were a couple of connections with the band- Jiggered's Emma and bride Kirsten know each other from university (both are ridiculously clever cookies) and I know John Speirs who married the couple. The venue was a familiar one for us: the Lodge on Loch Lomond. It's a beautiful setting and the view from the McMillan Suite is just stunning.
Jonathan and Kirsten had one our all-time-favourite seating plans. It was themed around the TV Series "Friends" and shared some of the key moments in the couple's relationship over the years!
The crowd were up for a ceilidh- their "Hooligan's Jig" moves deserve a special mention and I can't remember a more exhuberant reponse to us playing "Someone Like You" and "Dignity". Jonathan was singing our praises at the end of the night, saying he'd recommend us to anyone who'd listen!
All the best to the new Mr and Mrs Grant!

The latest ceilidh of 2014 for Jiggered Ceilidh Band saw us return to Pollok House, Glasgow. We'd been recommended by a friend of the bride, Jenny.
The evening celebrations consisted of three sets of ceilidh interspersed with some of the newlywed couple's favourite tunes on iPod! It made for a perfect mix and the crowd were superb!
It's been a busy weekend which explains the uncharacteristic brevity and lateness of this blogpost! Normal service will be resumed soon...
