People book up Jiggered for all sorts of reasons- maybe they've heard us at a wedding recently or they listen to our demo tracks or we've come highly recommended...Gary and Liz booked us up for their wedding because they're big fans of my weekly Maths newsletter! Oh yeah. This pair of Mathematicians married at Glasgow's House For An Art Lover and asked Jiggered to play at the reception. We were delighted to be part of their big day!
I'd like to think the vows went something like this:
-Gary, do you take Liz to be your sin2x?
-Liz, do you take Gary to be your cos2x?
-These two together have become 1.
Liz showed me her wedding ring design, inspired by the beauty of a trigonometric wave. Gary confirmed that none of their friends, families or guests had been quite as excited as me to see the ring! What a geek.
Anyway, it was lovely to meet the grandkids who I'd heard so much about (called Daisy and Logan) and we wish this crazy pair of retired Maths teachers all the very best for the future!

We really enjoyed Lisa and Ciaran's wedding recently. The two are cycling fanatics and the wedding had a really cool bike theme (the cake and flower arrangements were perfect for this couple)!
The wedding was at Huntingtower Hotel, near Perth, and we've played there before...it's a nice one.
Ciaran and Lisa were very relaxed and loved their big day. Their guests were keen ceilidhers and every dance ended with the cry of "well played the band" from a fiddle-playing P.E teacher who I think just became a lifelong Jiggered fan!
With so many lively dances, when we finished at the end of the night everyone was thoroughly jiggered and could dance no more! Or, like Lisa and Ciaran's bikes, everyone was two-tyred. (Sorry, couldn't resist).

Last night's ceilidh was at the ever popular National Piping Centre but this time it was a pleasure to be playing at the wedding of an old friend of the band's, David. The night kicked off with David and his bride Rosie performing a unique and impressively choreographed first dance, and this set the scene for a great night of dancing.
With Stevie filling in on keys for Chris who couldn't be there, Jiggered had the crowd up dancing to their mix of ceilidh and covers and everyone seemed to have a fun night. Nice to catch up with some familiar faces at the break before we said goodbye to the bride and groom to a rousing 'Loch Lomond', where never-miss-a-beat Ewan was in fine form.
Thankfully we managed to leave with all our bags in tact too, thanks to quick-off-the-stage Emma! A bit of a well-earned mid-summer break coming up now for the Jiggered crew before the wedding season continues...
