It's a busy spell coming up for Jiggered....September is going to be hectic with loads of ceilidhing to enjoy!
After being entertained by a local talented busker, guests at Sarah and Grant's wedding enjoyed an evening of ceilidh at Perth's Racecourse. Actually Sarah had lined up another band but when she heard us she had to have us at her wedding. And we're glad she did!
We had young Stephen along taking some photos, sound clips and video footage so hopefully we might have a wee promo video to share soon!
The wine was flowing, flowergirls were showing off their dance moves, two guests were chuffed to bits with their "Best Dancer" Awards and we were bombarded with compliments at the buffet (the best rolls we've had for ages- including pork, stuffing, crackling and chutney!) about our musicality and youthfulness...
Next ceilidhs: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday...

We've played at Destiny in Glasgow many times over the years. If you're looking for a venue, you should check this place out. It has a huge, well kitted auditorium space and excellent facilities.
Last night we played at a birthday party for a lovely woman Susan described as "the most enthusiastic, smiley 50 year old birthday girl ever".
Great food, an unexpected violin/cello duo entertaining us at the break and a crowd who love a good ceilidh: it was a super evening. Thanks for booking us, Peter!

Liz and Jim married in 1975, before any of the Jiggered team were born! Although we weren't able to play at the wedding all those years ago, we were delighted to play at their 40th anniversary party at the superb Fenwick Hotel.
Star of the show was wee grand-daughter Freyja who danced all night and looks destined for a future in drumming, much to her parents' excitment! I went to school with Freyja's mum, Sarah, and it was nice to catch up. Sarah's married to a Physics teacher (but don't hold that against him)! In fact, to disprove allegations of a Maths/Physics divide, here's the link to his textbook available to purchase on Amazon: Higher Physics Success Guide!
Liz was over the moon that we were able to play for them and told us that over and over. It was a pleasure to play for the happy couple and celebrate 40 years...as Emma said "here's to many more".
Oh, top notch truffles...
