Ok, perhaps one year learning German way back in 1994 means I'm somewhat underqualified to write that blog headline. But we had a brilliant evening with this bunch of German visitors...wunderbar!!
We were treated to fabulous food, singing from our overseas guests, polished performances from their Scottish hosts, impressive lederhosen and beermaid outifts. The photo is just one I took of Jorg, a thoroughly entertaining chap who everyone seemed to love!
This was a crowd who were "up for a ceilidh" even though half of them leave at 8am tomorrow morning to drive back to Germany. A treat for us to play for them all!

Ewan spent today wandering up Ben Arthur (or "The Cobbler" as it's probably better known). Then he nipped over to Arrochar to join us at the Three Villages Hall, where we were playing at Heather and Serge's wedding....
This was an fascinating mix of guests because Heather's Scottish and Serge's from the Ivory Coast! The couple had clearly spent a lot of time ensuring both cultures were being represented- they sang hymns at the service in English and French and the evening featured Jiggered's ceilidh music and a DJ with some African tunes too.
We hope Heather and Serge have many happy years together!

Marion and Colin asked us to play at their post-wedding party at St Luke's in Glasgow. We'd never been to this venue near Glasgow Green but it's a great find. St Luke's has a strong focus on excellent music. It was a privilege for us to be kicking off the evening with two hours of ceilidh!
We've been introduced by BBC Scotland's Fred MacAulay before and Scottish icon Sally Magnusson's hired us in the past- it was exciting to have former Scotland rugby player and BBC Radio Scotland presenter John Beattie in the crowd and dancing away...
Another ceilidh tomorrow night in a busy weekend for Jiggered. Bookings have flown in this week for 2016/2017. Please get in touch if you're looking for a ceilidh band!

Helen rememebered Jiggered from her Strathclyde days and booked us up for her wedding to Anthony. Helen and Anthony had booked the stunning Altskeith Country House, Kinlochard. It's secluded by the side of a beautiful loch. And what a hidden gem is. We're glad we found it!
Our bride and groom weren't sure their guests would be up for a ceilidh...this photo was taken at the break- it shows what the dance floor (which opened out onto the stunning garden) looked like empty. This was the only time it looked like this! The crowd were absolutely fantastic, dancing all night. Nothing phased this lot- we wheeled out the Folla Reel, Cumberland Basket, Eightsome Reel and they jigged the night away.
Glad I didn't get breathalised on the way home- the wedding cake contained a generous splash of booze I think!
All the best to the new Mr and Mrs Chesshire...thanks for the card and pressie at the end of the night, too!
