Jo and Derek heard Jiggered Ceilidh Band at a wedding last summer and booked us up to play at their own. This was our first wedding at Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens (a lovely venue for a wedding).
The trek from the cars up the hill with all the sound stuff was a proper workout. It was just as well it was only my kids that did Tough Mudder earlier in the day otherwise I'd have collapsed before even starting the ceilidh!
Jo and Derek were a pleasure to play for and their guests danced all evening to our ceilidh dances, covers and the tunes at the break (I would not have pegged Jo as a bride who would have Eminem's "Slim Shady" on her dream playlist!).
A really nice evening in the capital. Dumfries next week. Woohoo.

Another Jiggered wedding. Another bride and groom who were delighted with their evening entertainment! This time it was Donald and Lindsey who were marrying at Culcreuch Castle, Fintry. The Scottish midges were out in force but that didn't detract from a great evening. While I was tucking into the pick and mix buffet, Ewan was more mesmerised by the photo booth!
There were lots of cute wee kids strutting their stuff on the dance floor at this wedding- Jiggered fans for the future!
Wedding season is in full flow- another next weekend!

Our latest wedding ceilidh was for Peter and Sheryl. It was at Carnbooth House Hotel, a venue we've enjoyed playing at many times before! The evening was kicked off by by the MC for the evening who enthusiastically invited the bride and groom in to meet their guests and coordinated the photos of the cake-cutting. We've never seen so many wedding cake selfies being taken at a wedding before (#Carnbooth #Jiggered)!
After we played "How Long Will I Love You" for Mr and Mrs Shankland's first dance it was on with the ceilidh action. And this crowd were well up for dancing- all our ceilidhs and covers went down a storm. Ewan, Susan and I sort of overdosed on the pick and mix at the break but the subsequent sugar rush meant an energetic second half culminating in a massive Orchadian Strip the Willow, Auld Lang Syne and then Peter and Sheryl's exit through a arch made their guests.
A great night- we wish the happy couple all the best!

After a quiet-ish May, Jiggered Ceilidh Band are back in full swing with a summer of wedding action lined up! Rebecca and Arran were first on the list, marrying in South Queensferry last night. The guests invited by the new Mr and Mrs McLeod were able to enjoy an evening with good food, good music, and a rare treat in Scotland: lovely summer sunshine! Here's hoping this lasts.
It was a pleasure to play for Rebecca and Arran- we enjoyed trying some new material and definitely picked up a few new Jiggered fans too.
