Jiggered Perform Live on Stage at Glasgow's George Square For CreationFest

Jiggered Perform Live on Stage at Glasgow's George Square For CreationFest

The second ever Creation Fest Scotland saw George Square swarming with folk keen to enjoy a bit of ceilidh in the centre of Glasgow! We were delighted to get a slot on the stage and to be able to perform a short ceilidh set- what a joy to watch our friends and family (and complete strangers) dance about in this iconic location. And it was a pleasure to share the stage with some excellent musicians - our set was sandwiched between Steph McLeod and Allan McKinlay. Enough said.

A unforgettable day as Jiggered reach our 15-year anniversary!

Great job, Susan, Emma and Ewan!

Jiggered's Busy Weekend Continues in Royal Mussleburgh Golf Club

Jiggered's Busy Weekend Continues in Royal Mussleburgh Golf Club

Jiggered are in the middle of a particularly busy stretch....and loving it!

Our latest gig was the wedding reception of Duncan and Tracey who were marrying at Royal Musselburgh Golf Club (on the "other side" of Edinburgh). It was a large wedding with plenty of entertainment on offer! In addition to our ceilidh stuff, there was a Rod Stewart tribute act and DJ at the end of the night!

Chat for the band centred around plans for our next consecutive Saturdays...

Saturday 26th August: We're performing live at Creation Fest Scotland (live on stage in Glasgow's George Square at 6pm)
Saturday 2nd September: We're exhibiting and performing at Scotland's Exclusive Wedding Event (in Double by Hilton, Glasgow City Centre)

Maybe see you at one/both of these cracking events.

All the best to Duncan and Tracey. We really enjoyed playing for you guys, thanks for booking us (and for your kindness)!

An international ceilidh for Jiggered Ceilidh Band

An international ceilidh for Jiggered Ceilidh Band

There was a undeniably international flavour to our latest ceilidh. The University of Glasgow's Maths and Stats Department have been booking us for their APTS Conference ceilidh for many years and it's always a pleasure. Adrian is the host for the evening and has brainwashed...sorry....convinced everyone that participation is absolutely mandatory. So every time Emma anounced a dance, the floor was busy and when Adrian took the mic at half time and said "so, folks, Jiggered are taking a short break so it's time for you to perform" that's exactly what happened. We were treated to an honourary Scottish lassie singing "Wild Mountain Thyme", impressed by an Irish poem, entertained by a makeshift duo who did a cover of "Shake it Off", teased by a masterclass in Mauritius dancing...and of course Adrian didn't disappoint as he did a wee number too!

A great evening- the start of a busy spell for Jiggered! Remember to come see us live in George Square on Saturday (26th August) at 6pm. Our slot is part of Creation Fest Scotland- an unmissable event!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band- New Lanark Mill Hotel

Jiggered Ceilidh Band- New Lanark Mill Hotel

This was a weekend of "sound limiters". Both St Andrews in the Square and New Lanark Mill Hotel have sound limiting systems to control the volume for their neighbours. These can be tricky to play alongside but we're pretty experienced and judging by the end-of-ceillidh-reactions after both our latest weddings, we've mastered the art of getting the most of these systems, avoiding the awkward power-cuts!

Hamish and Jen booked us up for their wedding at New Lanark. After negotiating the four flights of stairs with the sound gear, we were excited to play for this music-loving couple (they had musical icing around their wedding cake) and their keen-to-sing-along guests (who would join in whenever we did any Scottish song or cover)!

Now it's a weekend off for JiGGered before a particularly hectic spell- remember you can come see us on Saturday 26th August in Glasgow's George Square at Creation Fest (we're on the main stage at 6pm) or on Saturday 2nd September at Scotland's Exclusive Wedding Event!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: Glasgow's St Andrews in the Square Wedding

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: Glasgow's St Andrews in the Square Wedding

Glasgow's St Andrews in the Square is a stunning venue. This impressive building is steeped in history. It looks incredible inside and out.

Colin and Katie's wedding was our latest visit. It was a pleasure to play for bride Katie (whose sister opted for Jiggered at her wedding too)! The crowd were enthusiastic and danced the night away. We're in the middle of a particularly busy spell with a live performance in George Square at Creation Fest and a showcase at Scotland's Exclusive Wedding Event coming up in the next three weeks (on top of our our other ceilidhs) so there was plenty to chat about- exciting times!

We obviously wish Colin and Katie all the best for the future- thanks again for having us, you guys!

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding at Altskeith

Jiggered Ceilidh Band Wedding at Altskeith

The first thing I spotted when I arrived at Altskeith for Rob and Kate's wedding was the bride and groom rowing their way across the loch! I knew straight away this would be a fun wedding.

Rob and Kate *love* ceilidh. They're musicians themselves and led the way on the dance floor all night...

We had a great evening. Have a great honeymoon in Canada, Mr and Mrs Elliott.
