Jiggered Ceilidh Band kick off Christmas Season in Edinburgh

Jiggered Ceilidh Band kick off Christmas Season in Edinburgh

Kyle Broon. The guy has the reputation of being a organiser. He sorts out the Napier University Men's Football Club (pitches, strips, matches...Kyle's your man).

And he sorted out a cracking joint Christmas Ceilidh for the Men's Football Club, Women's Football teams and Women's hockey teams. The Hilton Grosvenor hosted the event and it was a stoater.

We managed to get some grub- our first Christmas dinner of the season! We played an action-packed set. Ewan was getting into so much that he burst his bass drum. Oops. That's the sort of commitment you get with Jiggered.

Kyle was gushing in his praise of the band (here's his quotes, minus one or two expletives) "Genuinely mean it. I am so grateful for your guys, not only coming through to Edinburgh but for being class!!"

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: St Andrew's Ceilidh for GCM

Jiggered Ceilidh Band: St Andrew's Ceilidh for GCM

Tonight's ceilidh was a total belter. We were playing at Glasgow City Mission for a whole host of internationals...The atmosphere was superb- so friendly with everyone keen to share in the Scottish culture and show off some of their culture's dancemoves in between our ceilidh sets. From Egyptian to Iranian, the enthusiasm was relentless!

We're hoping to play for GCM a few more times. Rachel organised a superb event and we had a blast.

Jiggered Ceilidh Band- Stoater of a Wedding at Troon's Piersland House Hotel

Jiggered Ceilidh Band- Stoater of a Wedding at Troon's Piersland House Hotel

Tonight's ceilidh was pretty special.

Ewan arrived with two exciting new purchases. Inside his awesome new car was a cracking new drum kit.
Susan arrived safe and sound despite having being trapped in a room just hours earlier.
Emma's reputation as an amazing singer was confirmed before we even started by a few guests who'd heard us before.
I was buzzing to be playing for Lorna and Gary's wedding (Lorna did say she was "buzzing like a bee" too!). The room was loaded with his folk who know me as "Mr Smith" and it was a pleasure to catch up with so many pupils, like Harry and Jennifer, former pupils, like Adam, Alex, Andy, Beth, Cammy, Emma, Euan, Gavin, Jack, Kate, Rachel, Ross, Ruairidh, parents and even grandparents.

The first dance the happy couple had chosen was "Bless the Broken Road" - it was a cracking way to start the evening. Evey dance saw the floor filled and when we wheeled out "Paper Roses" for Killie fan groom Gary the reaction was unbelievable. Brought the house down!

An amazing evening- one guest posted this on Facebook later about Jiggered: "Without a doubt the best ceilidh band. Absolutely unreal at a wedding tonight". We'll take that. Thanks, Cammy.
