Jiggered is a top Scottish Ceilidh and Covers Band available to hire for weddings and events in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Our story.

They say that time flies when you’re having fun, and we can definitely testify to this! Jiggered formed back in 2002 while its founder members were studying at The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. All these years on and we’ve been creating ceilidh magic across the country ever since.

We’re not necessarily the traditional ceilidh band you might picture. There’s no accordion, no bagpipes, and not too much grey hair - yet! What we do have, however, is a 4 piece line up featuring fiddle, guitar, keyboard, drums, vocals - and a passion to provide you and your guests with an unforgettable night of live entertainment, every time.

We are not only bandmates but we are fortunate enough to have become great friends over the years, sharing in the highs and lows that life has brought each of us along the way. This chemistry is evident in our music, presence and performance.

The dances.

The ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ rule certainly applies when it comes to ceilidh dances. The oldies are definitely the goodies, and we’ve been bringing our modern sound to traditional ceilidh dances since the beginning.

In a typical Jiggered set, you can expect to dance from the following favourite ceilidh dances: Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant, Virginia Reel, Eightsome Reel, Strip the Willow, St. Bernard's Waltz, Hooligan's Jig, Canadian Barn Dance, Military Two-step, Orcadian Strip the Willow, Follow Reel, Cumberland Basket.

And don't worry if you're a bit rusty or have never ceilidhed before - our expert caller will walk you through full step-by-step instructions before every dance to make sure you’re good to go, before we count you in for the real deal.

The covers.

Over the years we have introduced at least one or two ‘covers sets’ per ceilidh. We have a repertoire of crowd-pleaser pop songs, plus some that we have picked up along the way by request of our clients. If you’ve got any specific song requests, please just let us know when making your booking and we’ll be make sure to include it in our set list for your event.

In a typical Jiggered set, you can expect to hear from amongst the following covers: Valerie, You’ve Got The Love, Shake It Off, Proud Mary, 9 to 5, Rolling In The Deep, Rule The World, Perfect, All Of Me, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Thousand Years, Life With You.

Weddings.

Jiggered has firmly established a reputation as one of Scotland’s leading wedding ceilidh bands, with hundreds of satisfied newlywed clients in our portfolio. From ancient Irish castles to state of the art function suites, our set-up caters for venues of all shapes, styles and sizes.

Each bride and groom have distinct ideas about how their wedding reception should be, so we strive to accommodate specific requests and go above and beyond in ensuring the success of their big day. Commonly, we are asked to learn a live version of the bride and groom’s first dance - something that we are honoured to accommodate and be a part of.

"
So glad I heard Jiggered at the wedding and booked you for our big family ceilidh. Just under 150 Icelanders, Danes, English folk and Scots had the night of their lives and I’m still basking in the praise. I was impressed all over again by your musicality, your enthusiasm and your good-natured ability to guide a roomful of flailing dancers into something approaching a proper set…
