We Felt The Love Tonight!
Friday night saw us kick off our triple-ceilidh weekend at Harvest Church, Glasgow, where we’d been booked to play for Christine and David Alford’s Golden Anniversary.
It wasn’t just Jiggered on the line up however, as the Alford family had a few musical treats in store between ceilidh dances. David kicked things off with a lovely rendition of Elton John’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” followed by their daughter Lou’s tribute to her parents - a cover of Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me”. Not to be outshone, the Alford boys, David and Michael, also took to the stage and entertained with a sing-along to The Proclaimers, “I’m On My Way”. What a talented bunch!
David, Christine, their family and friends were all so welcoming. We were invited to the (fantastic!) buffet during the break. It was so good that we even requested a few recipes afterwards, which Christine kindly shared. Thanks, Christine!
We ended the night, as requested, with a full version of ‘Praise’ by Elevation Worship and Brandon Lake. We loved acknowledging the Lord and His faithfulness in closing out the celebration.
After a brilliant night, we headed home for a few hours sleep before getting up up for ceilidh number 2 of the weekend in Northern Ireland. More on that to come!
Congratulations again David and Christine and thank you for having us at your celebration!
